The Chapter supports the purposes of the National AAUP to promote the values of instruction, higher education, and research; to advance the standards, ideals, and welfare of the academic profession; and to serve as the collective bargaining agent for the faculty of the University.

NMU-AAUP supports faculty through contract negotiation and enforcement which promotes fairness and shared governance while providing an environment that allows faculty to have successful, rewarding careers.

Vision

NMU-AAUP will support initiatives that provide resources necessary for quality faculty and programs while ensuring that the collective efforts of the bargaining unit result in a valuable service to our members and the long-term success of the institution.
